SEA SHANTY ART ROCKS

Welcome to the annual "Sea Shanty ArtRocks” hosted by the Rockfield Centre in collaboration with the Sea Shanty Festival! This competition is open to artists of all levels and ages, and features two rounds of submissions

The age categories are as follows:

Primary and Preschool
High School
Adult

The competition is open to both amateurs and professionals, and there will be separate judging for each age category.

Round 1: "Set Sail" (May 29 - June 16)

The first round of submissions is open from May 29th to June 16th and invites artists to create works inspired by the sea, shanties, or any aspect of maritime life. Submissions can be made in any medium, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and graphic design. All entries must be submitted digitally through our website, and a maximum of two entries per artist will be accepted.

Round 2: "Sea Shanty Showcase" (June 23 - 25)

All works selected for the second round will be exhibited during the Sea Shanty Festival in the Ash Room, from June 23rd to 25th. Judges will be present during the festival to select one winner from each age category. There will also be a people's choice award.

Grand Prize: Art Exhibition Featuring winners from each age category

The grand prize winners of the Sea Shanty Art Exhibition will receive an art exhibition in the Rockfield Centre's prestigious Silver Birch & Scots Pine Gallery. The exhibition will feature all the works from the winners of each age category, including Primary and Preschool, High School, and Adult. This is an incredible opportunity for artists of all ages and levels to showcase their artwork in a professional setting for a duration of one month. The winners will receive assistance with the setup, installation, and promotion of the exhibition, as well as an opening night reception. We hope that this grand prize will inspire artists to submit their best works and push their creativity to new heights.
